A Fuzzy 'Fuzz'

When Peter 'Fuzz' Jordan arrived at Sheffield University in October 1967, Tenpin Bowling was a popular sport, but there was no student bowling club to join. So Fuzz decided to start one, and for the next five or six years we had a great time bowling and boozing, and we even managed to win the National Championships three years running. For the full story see the History.

 

But though the bowling and boozing was great (not to mention the bridge and other b_words), the real success of the club was in creating some lasting friendships and even one or two life-long partnerships. So when a 25-year reunion was suggested for 1992 the turnout was impressive, with people travelling from all over the world.

The site was updated with the 2010 bowling results, some pictures, the telltale Group Photo, and Dave's Diary.


I also updated the Reunion Averages, and posted the results of the Virtual Bowling.





2010 REUNION

27/28th November 2010


The 2010 Reunion was a great success, - a big Thank You to everyone who came, especially from overseas.


We hope you all escaped Sheffield and/or got home before the snow !


Dave is working on his Diary, and the results, and we are collating some pictures, - all of which will appear on the website soon.


Find of the year was Paul Dransfield, who not only has a lovely daughter and a flash car (below), but also bowls a 200+ average which helped us defeat the current students.




Paul also won the Virtual Bowling competition.



The reunion has become a regular 3-year event, and as we now have the technology, this website . . . is for the old bowlers of the Sheffield Students Tenpin Bowling Club.
