Well what can I say, other than, what a great weekend we had again. The weather certainly made it interesting, as it snowed on the Friday night, but the weather man kept the worst of it away until after the event.

Graham Brisbane came from Australia, Paul Dransfield and Fiona McDonald came from Canada, Mick and Maggie from Florida, Alan Dale from Switzerland, Bobby and Cath came from the Isles of Scilly, but the hardest place to come from was the North East (due to the weather) - so we must have taken some special magic potion back in the 60s/70's to keep us all together. Again to those who didn't make it, we missed you and hope you can make 2014 (yes - 2014).

Saturday lunch was in the Broomhill Tavern (where a certain quantity of alcohol was consumed - to keep the cold out - ha ha ha), and in the evening we had a hot meal in the University Arms near the Student Union, organized by Roy, - with a band downstairs to add to the occasion.

Sunday Morning: Firth Park at 9-30 am. Everyone was on time which was surprising (never happened before) as there was snow and ice on the hilly roads of Sheffield. As always, we played among ourselves to find the best few to play the students in the afternoon. The Yellow shirts were out (not all buttoned up again), but the bowling was pretty poor. There were only six 500's and ONE 600 (Paul Dransfield showing us all up). The conclusion was that the Virtual League did not help many of us (it had nearly 30 600 series – wonder what happened ??).

We had a good liquid lunch and prize giving. Paul Dransfield (656) and Maggie Hesford (418) won the High Series and received their Ozz Trophies (thanks to Jane). Fiona McDonald (142) and Alan Metcalf (207) won High Games. And of course we had the traditional wooden spoons to the usual crowd (Roy Thurling, Cath Boulton (welcome back), Mike Body and Linda Jordan). Prizes were also given for the Virtual league participants. Our good friend Bert the Bus was there and he corrected me. - it was a COACH!!!
