July 1997 (Dave's second letter)

Well what can I say, other than, what a great weekend we had, and how good it was to see some new old faces turning up. As you can see from the press cuttings, we made a lot of news, which is not bad for a 30-year old club. Of course the fact that "we" (Hannah is one of us now !) had a 300 game had nothing to do with the amount of press coverage ! ! !

I have included all the scores from both the morning and afternoon bowling sessions. Although these show how bad some of us still are, it was good to see a few 200 games, and 600 series from Paul Benton and Gary Barlow even if overshadowed somewhat by Hannah. I have included some photos, and thanks go to John Whitfield for the group photo.

Finally I would also like to add my thanks to Ozz and Bobby, who put in most of the effort for the weekend's activities, and to those who provided the prizes (Mif, Vince, Bert and Bobby), - I just hope the winners did not get headaches.

There's nothing else to say (unusual for me), except - see you in 5 years, and keep practicing.
